10/21/2004 | Robert Sherry | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide a revised copy of sheet P1. 2. Provide the rim elevations of the next upstream and the next downstream sanitary manholes. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 710.1, UPC 1994. 3. The invert elevation of the building drain at the northwest corner of the building (2516.10 feet) is lower than the invert elevation at its "downstream" intersection with the north-south building drain (approximately 2517.69 feet). Revise the layout of the building drains as necessary to achieve the required slope (preferably ΒΌ" per foot inside of the building). Reference Section 708.0, UPC 1994. 4. Revise the size of the gas piping rooftop units AC-1, AC-2, AC-3, and AC-6 to comply with the requirements of Table 12-3, UPC 1994. 5. Show the gas piping to AC-9. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 6. Provide a vent for water closet P-2H located in room 110. Reference Section 901.0, UPC 1994. 7. Provide waste and vent riser diagram for room 129. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 8. Verify that the trap arm for P-8 in room 111 meets the requirements of Section 1002.3, UPC 1994. The maximum developed length for a 2" trap arm is 5'-0" and cleanouts are required for any changes in direction over 90 degrees. 9. Clarify the numbering of the plumbing fixtures; P-6 refers to both a shower and to a 2-compartment sink (sheet P5) and the 2-compartment sink is referred to as P-7 on sheet P3. 10. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 fps for the PVC and Copper piping. Revise pipe sizes as necessary. Reference Section A 6.1, UPC 1994; IAPMO IS 3-93, Section 610.0; and IAPMO IS 8-92, Section 610.1. 11. Indicate the maximum conductivity of the specified piping insulation. Reference Section 804.5, IECC 2000. 12. Provide hot water system temperature controls per Section 804.3, IECC 2000. 13. Provide heat traps for water heater WH-1. If the heat traps are not integral to the water heater, provide insulation on the first 8 feet of hot and cold water piping. Reference Sections 804.4 and 804.5, IECC 2000. 14. Section A-A of sheet A-5 shows rain gutters on the north and south sides of the metal building but the shop drawings for the metal building do not show any gutters. If gutters are to be furnished, show the gutter dimensions and the slope of the gutters. If gutters are not to be furnished, show that the specified scuppers, located second and third from the northeast corner of the porch, are capable of handling the design rainfall. Reference Sections D3.1 and D3.2, UPC 1994. |

Sheet E6 Electrical Load Summary for Panel L2 totals 102.1 A, but calls for a 100A panel. Panel schedule calls for a 150A panel. Pls clarify. 6. Sheet E6 Electrical Load Summary for Panel L1 counts continuous load at 1.1 KVA. Panel L2 counts continuous load at 21.8 KVA. Since Panel L1 powers Panel L2 its continuous load should not be less than that on L2. Pls clarify. 7. Sheet E6 Electrical Load Summary for Panel L1 totals 203.2 A, but calls for a 200A panel. Panel schedule calls for a 300A panel. Pls clarify. 8. Sheet E6 Electrical Load Summary for Panel L1 totals 203.2 A, but on sheet E5 Line Diagram the feeder is 3/0, with ampacity 200A. Pls clarify. 9. If the Panel L1 feeder is 3/0, the GND in the conduit should be sized at #4, not #6. Reference NEC Table 250.66 Footnote a. 10. If the Panel L1 feeder is 3/0, the Grounding Electrode Conductor at transformer should be sized at #6, not #8. Reference NEC 250.30 (A) (2) (a) and NEC 250.66 (A). |
