All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL: q There are no general comments to be addressed. STRUCTURAL: q The Geotechnical Report (Terracon Project No. 63035128, dated 9/4/2003) recommends on Page 8 that a subsurface drainage system be installed behind the "retaining wall". It is assumed that they are describing the bridge abutments and wing walls since the drawing set does not a wall other than these. Where is the subsurface drainage system indicated for these walls? Please indicate on the plans how this issue is to be addressed. q The references on Sheet 1 of 3 (for the bridge) in the special inspection notes need to reflect the 2000 IBC (and no the UBC). Please correct. q Provide City of Tucson special inspection certificate(s) for the following: · Engineered Fill · Field Welding · Bolts Installed in Concrete q Provide a dimension on Details 4 and 6 to indicate the minimum concrete cover over the reinforcing steel of 3 inches [2000 IBC Table 1907.7.1]. q Provide for review and approval structural detail(s) and calculations for the light pole bases referenced on Sheet E2.
