Subsequent calculations are to be made using 80% of the reduced water pressure. Reference Section 608.2, UPC 1994. 2. Provide cleanout for hand sink in kitchen. Reference Section 707.4, UPC 1994 as amended by the State of Arizona. 3. Provide a flow control device for all fixtures directly connected to a grease trap. A floor sink may NOT be directly connected to a grease trap because the flow control device cannot be added to the tailpiece of the floor sink. Typically, two compartments of a 3-compartment sink are directly connected to a grease trap and one compartment is indirectly wasted to the floor sink. Reference section 1011.3, UPC 1994. Consult with the Pima County Health Department for their requirements (520-740-2760). 4. Access and clearance for backflow devices is required. Reference Section 603.2.3. Locating a backflow device above a ceiling will also require a fixed ladder for access to the platform. 5. A carbonator requires a reduced pressure backflow assembly, not a dual check valve with an atmospheric vent (Note H., Plumbing Notes, Sheet P-2). Refernce Section 603.3.12, UPC 1994. |
