The 99NEC 240-21(b)(1)(d) requires a minimum #6 copper tap conductor. Additionally a statement under the electrical engineers seal must certify the modified equipment or a new certification from an approved testing lab would be required. See 99NEC 90-7, 110-3, 110-26 and 240-21. |
