Thrall (Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov) Date: 3/20/23 Codes: Unified Development Code 7A Sign Standards, National Electrical Code NEC 600, Tucson - Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC) 2018. 1. This location is within the Scenic Corridor Zone Sign District, UDC 7A.11.3. The proposal requires a master sign program to: A) exceed total allowed attached sign area of 250 square feet in scenic district B) allow signage to face a local street in scenic district (Drexel Rd) C) please submit an MSP application on the portal with the SDRC applications and these diagrams D) The MSP process looks at sign relationship to the building architecture and between the signs themselves. Provide notations as to any colors, textures, materials etc. on the building that relate to the two design wall signs that name the hospital. E) The MSP process looks at sign relationship between the signs proposed and sizes / spatial and design. Staff is aware that federal laws regulate the colors and fonts and sizes of signs used for ambulance and emergency signs, which differ from the hospital name sign designs. In your application, please provide that information for the review process, and note the emergency signs relate to one another. (Thank you) F) check with the PAD-12 Civano process to ensure that signage is addressed in their review with this new development. (Check perhaps first with developer, which may have a letter to that effect for all items reviewed.) 2.) IBC: A) Note that should the master sign program be approved, that engineering will be required for the wall sign ID's as Sign A on the west elevation for the mounting method due to it's size.
