If a historical-period sidewalk stamp is encountered during curb access ramp work, standard DTM procedure should follow: 1. Remove & replace curb access ramps in a manner that does not disturb (preserves in place) any historical period sidewalk stamps. 2. If No.1 is not possible: remove the section of the original historical-period sidewalk stamp and re-install in the newly constructed area as similar as before. 3. If No.1 and No.2 are not possible: a mold is made of the original historical-period stamp prior to disturbance and later used to re-stamp the freshly poured concrete of the newly constructed curb access ramp. ------------------------------------------------ The project is located in an Archaeology Sensitivity Zone. The installation of a new sidewalk and the new curb access ramp at the northeast corner of Simpson & Main has the possibility to disturb native sediments and will require archaeological monitoring by a qualified archaeological contractor. |
