09/11/2025 Commercial Plumbing Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT Comment not resolved. Verify that the 16” ductile iron water main exists: it’s not shown on the Tucson Water maps. Provide the anticipated water demand for this installation and explain why a ¾” water meter is serving a 4” backflow preventer and a 4” building service pipe. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. [Initial comment: Clarify the Water Keynote #1. Are you asking for a 1” water service from Tucson Water with a ¾” water meter? The size of the water meter should be based on the anticipated water demand.]

To whom this may concern,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on TD-DEV-0325-00075, 2
nd Submittal, the
development plan for a new concrete test pad at Tucson International Airport. This
development is located in the N.E. quarter of the S.E. quarter of Section 28, Township 15S,
Range 14E, of the Gila and Salt River Meridian. The development site occupies parcel numbers
140-48-003A, covers approximately 5.0 ± acres, and is zoned as Heavy Industrial Zone (I-2).
The nearest major roadway intersection is Aeronautical Way and South Alvernon Way,
approximately 900 feet to the northeast of the subject development.
This site does lie within the Tucson International Airport avigation easement requirements and
public disclosure area, FAA traffic pattern airspace, and FAA Part 77 airspace.
The Tucson Airport Authority is requiring a resubmittal of this project. Replace all Tucson
Airport Authority notes, contained on page 1 and 2 of the development package with the below
two notes.
Conditions of approval:
1. “The applicant shall file FAA Form 7460 with the FAA at least 45 days before
construction activities begin unless FAA staff, with the Obstruction Evaluation / Airport
Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA), provides the project applicant with written communication
that filing FAA Form 7460 is not required. It is highly recommended that the applicant
file earlier than 45 days to provide the applicant with sufficient time to respond to any
concerns which are identified by the FAA. Any cranes which are used must also be
identified with Form 7460. Please file Form 7460 at
https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/portal.jsp”
2. “All vertical objects above ground level (storage containers, antennas, and buildings)
must have a separate study prepared and completed to analyze and mitigate potential
impacts to navigational aids at Tucson International Airport (TUS) which are in close
proximity to project site. These navigation aids are the Very High Frequency OmniRange (VOR) with a collocated Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN). These systems are
referred to as the VORTAC at TUS.”
