This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, please provide updated plans and calculations with a written response to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Do not cloud the changes made for comment revisions. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2018 International Residential Code and 2018 International Energy Conservation Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The City of Tucson adopted the 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and 2018 International Residential Code with amendments on 1/1/2019 along with requirements of the Arizona Revised Statute 36-1681. Show the current code reference on the plans. All engineers and architects involved in the design of the structure are to seal the related sheets of plans, details and calculations in accordance with the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration SITE PLAN: 1. Indicate the location and size of buildings, utility meters (gas, electrical, water) and lines (gas, electrical, water, sewer), R106.1.1. 2. Provided site plan shows gas and electrical on the west side of the building, but from street view of the property, both gas meter and MSP appear to be located on the east side of the building. Clarify exact locations. PLUMBING/GAS Plans: 1. Note and specify all piping materials and sizes, P2609. 2. Note approximate path for all pool plumbing. 3. Clarify exact location of gas meter and developed distance. 4. Provide gas piping plan. Show connection from gas meter to all gas appliances. Provide manufacturer’s spec sheet demonstrating Appliance fuel input or use prescriptive number in gas piping template. 6. Provide total demand from all appliances. 7. Use G2413.4.1 - G2413.4.3 to determine required developed length. 8. Use correct Table G2413.4(*) to calculate correct required pipe sizes. ELECTRICAL PLANS: 1. Use Table E3705.5.3 for sizing 15, 20 & 30 AMP branch circuit conductors and protection ratings. 2. Use Table E3705.1, 60 degree C column, for sizing branch circuits and conductors rated at 100 AMP or less, E3705.4.1. 3. Clarify exact location of MSP. 4. Indicate location of all new electrical lines, receptacles, lights, etc... 5. Electrical work shall comply with 2018 IRC chapters 34 - 42. STRUCTRAL Plans: 1. Pool structures require a structural design by a registered engineer in the state of Arizona, R301.1.3. 2. Include a registered Arizona engineer seal on the plans when the pool is placed within the surcharge of the dwelling foundation, R301.1.3.
