APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Historic Review requires a supplemental application called a Design Package. Please see the Historic & Special Districts Application Instructions for more information about submittal requirements: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/sharedassets/public/v/1/pdsd/documents/special_districts_application_instructions_3.3.2025.pdf. As part of your Design Package, please include the following compiled as a single PDF: project description, site plan, floor plan, roof plan, elevations, window and door schedule, photographs of existing conditions, Development Zone map as described in instructions along with precedent photographs, product names/specifications/brochures. All materials required as part of your Design Package should be combined and uploaded to your Special District Sub-Record as a single PDF. REVIEW PROCESS: Applications for projects that qualify for Historic Review will be reviewed by staff. Once the Design Package is deemed complete and fees are paid, staff will schedule a Review with representatives of the applicable Historic Zone Advisory Board and the Tucson-Pima County Historical Commission, Plans Review Subcommittee. Following board and commission review, comments will be forwarded to the PDSD Director, who makes the final decision. |

This letter reflects comments to be addressed. For facilitating a shorter review time, please provide updated plans and calculations with a written response to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Do not cloud the changes made for comment updates; revisions are processed if changes occur after the permit is issued. Provide a response letter addressing each comment with location of change on the plans. Submit the separate response letter and plan set files. Site Engineering Review Comments: 1. It appears that there are additional plans submitted along with this permit for a different site. These plans show 419 S. 5th Ave as the project site which does not match the address for the submitted permit. Please review and revise or delete the site and plan set to match the permit address. a. Please remove the revision clouds and callouts as they are only processed after the permit has been issued. 2. As portions of the wall proposed for site is shown to be greater than 8-feet tall, it will be required that a separate wall building permit be submitted for structural review. All non-retaining walls that exceed 7-feet in height from natural grade fall under the “structural” designation. For the new wall permit, please submit the structural calculations and drawings for the construction of the wall. Revise the keynote for the wall to reflect this: “Wall to be built under separate permit.” 3. Please provide a complete site plan so residential engineering can conduct a full review.
