GENERAL - SPECIAL INSPECTIONS: Please have the Registered Design Professional in Responsible Charge of this project complete and return the City of Tucson Special Inspections Certificate with signatures. S001 - DESIGN ASSUMPTIONS: The following structural design information shall be included in the construction documents per 2018 IBC Section 1603. Please include the following items in the structural general notes. i. Wind design data: Design wind pressures for exterior component and cladding materials expressed in psf ii. Seismic design data: Seismic design category 4. S001 - CURRENT CODE: The currently adopted building code for the City of Tucson is the 2018 International Building Code and its axillary codes. Please update the Rough Carpentry and Plywood general notes to comply with the correct edition of the National Design Specification.\ 5. S102 - MISSING INFORMATION: Detail T32 on Sheet S102 references steel dowels epoxied into the end grain of existing wood rafters. The structural general notes on Sheet S001 do not specify an epoxy suitable for post-installed anchors in wood. Please specify the type of epoxy required for this application. 6. S201 - CONFLICTING INFORMATION: The Shear Wall Schedule on Sheet S201 provides information that conflicts with the structural calculation package at the following locations. Please revise the schedule to match the calculations or revise the calculations as needed. i. Shear Wall SW1 calls for 1/2" anchor bolts installed through the bottom plate of the Level 2 walls. The structural calculation package specifies 16d nails for wood-to-wood connections. Please confirm. 7. S301 - STAIR FRAMING: The 2nd Floor Framing Plan indicates two exterior stairs at either end of the building. Please provide beam callouts to show how sizes of all structural members and detail as required to fully illustrate how each stair landing is being supported. In addition, please provide all structural information for handrails, unless design of hand rails and guard rails is being deferred. If deferred, please update the list of deferred submittals on Sheet S001 accordingly. 8. S501 - MISSING INFORMATION: Foundation details 103 through 107 indicate a concrete stem wall above the continuous footing defined in the Footing Schedule on S201. The concrete stem wall appears to match the thickness of the 2x6 wall above, but no dimension has been provided. Please confirm the minimum width of the concrete stem wall. 9. S601 - FRAMING DETAIL: Detail 211 illustrates a typical connection of roof joists to the low roof ridge beam. No framing clips or hardwire is currently shown in this detail. Please confirm that the design intent is for these joists to toenailed to the ridge beam and no addition uplift support is required.
