| 10/29/2024 | Commercial Electrical | APPROVED | Structural(S) Reviewer Madeline Nelson mnelson@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 10/23/2024 2:27:11 PM 1. GENERAL - ENGINEER REQUIRED: According to the Architectural Roof Plan, A3, and the Mechanical Roof Plan and Schedule, M2 & M4, part of the proposed work includes the addition of five new Rooftop Mechanical Units weighing approximately 725 lb each. Because these units are in excess of 300lb, documentation by a licensed professional engineer specializing in structures is required to verify that the roof framing has sufficient capacity to support these units, as well as any RTU curbs required by the manufacturer. The engineer shall determine if any reinforcement of the existing framing is required and provide structural details as required Building(B) Reviewer Kimiyoshi Shimabukuro kshimabukuro@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 10/20/2024 6:13:54 AM 1. Sheet TS1 – Deferred submittal lists NFPA “13R” fire sprinkler and sprinkler monitoring systems. NFPA 13R is a residential sprinkler design standard focused on low-rise residential occupancies not for business occupancy use. 2. TS1 – Describe the scope of fire alarm system if any. 3. TS1 – General notes indicate “2000” IBC series which are not applicable for City of Tucson. 4. Accessibility details such as floor clearances missing that should comply with 2009 ICC/ANSI-A117.1. 5. A7.1 – Shows W8x31 steel beam but missing structural foundation plan and details. Show support of this beam and connections. 6. A3 – Missing method of roof access. Show how the roof is accessed to the mechanical appliances. 7. A1.1 – 2018 International Fire Code section 901.4.6.4 Lighting. Permanently installed artificial illumination shall be provided in the automatic sprinkler system riser rooms and fire pump rooms. Light missing in RCP. 8. A1.1 – 2018 IFC section 901.4.6 pump and riser roof size. The riser rooms shall be designed with adequate space for all equipment necessary for installation, as defined by the manufacturer, with sufficient working space around the stationary equipment. F.R 116 is not shing this clearance space. Mechanical(M) Reviewer Jake Doub jdoub@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 10/28/2024 10:01:42 AM 1. General / missing energy compliance report. Revise the submittal documents to include an energy compliance report for the mechanical systems, such as a COMcheck or similar report. (2018 IMC - 301.2). 2. General / missing heating and cooling load calculations. Revise the submittal documents to include the heating and cooling load calculations used in the design. (2018 IMC - 312.1). 3. Sheet M1 / Mechanical Plan / missing equipment. The floor plans show the installation of a cooktop and hood; however, the architectural and MEP plans do not indicate the type of cooking appliance and hood serving the cooktop. Revise the plans to indicate the make/model of the cooktop and hood; or, at a minimum indicate if the appliance is a residential or commercial appliance and provide the type of hood and CFM is exhausted to the exterior. (2018 IMC - 106.3.1, 505.1, 506.1). 4. Sheet M2 / Mechanical Roof Plan / missing equipment access. The mechanical roof plans show the location of the rooftop mounted equipment; however, no access to the equipment has been provided for. Additionally, the architectural plans show the equipment is more than 16' above the finished grade and would required a permanent ladder and access aisles to the equipment. Revise the architectural and/or mechanical plans to show how access to the equipment has been provided. (2018 IMC - 306.5). Electrical(E) Reviewer Ron Ross rross@safebuilt.com Approved with Comments Reason: Date Completed : 10/22/2024 10:33:42 AM 1. 1. E2.0 Boardroom has misidentified Key Note #1 which should probably be #3. 2. 2. E2.0 Comment only, Should have called out for tamper resistant receptacles where required in conjunction with specification requirements. 3. 3. E2.1 All the Rooftop units circuit designations are incorrect. The circuits should call out for the B panel, as there is no HP panel. Should correct before IFC. 4. 4. E5.0 Electrical Riser diagram shows meter for Panel A as a 2 feed (ie single phase) meter. If that is the case, an addendum, resubmittal, or revision will be needed. 5. 5. E5.0 EF-1 should upsize CB for continuous operation as EF-1 is on a timeclock that probably runs all day and FLA is 17.5 amps and per NEC 210, the load should be calculated at 125%.
