Please provide proof that this project has been submitted to the Pima County Health Department for permitting. Make sure to incorporate any of their comments into any future submittals. 2. Please indicate that the kitchen hood suppression system [2018 IBC Sec. 904.12] is to be provided as part of this project and are to be submitted as a separate permit (not a deferred submittal). 3. The plans indicate a type I and type II hood. Please either provide the documents now or list on this sheet as a deferred submittal and include the following notes: PER IBC Section 107.3.4 <Name of Registrant>, the registered design professional in charge shall be responsible for reviewing and coordinating submittal documents prepared by others, including phased and deferred submittal items, for compatibility with the design of the building. PER IBC Section 107.3.4.1 Submittal documents for deferred submittal items shall be submitted to the registered design professional in responsible charge, who shall review them and forward them to the Building Official with a notation indicating that the deferred submittal documents have been reviewed and that they have been found to be in general conformance with the design of the building. 4. Note on the cover of the drawings that special inspection is required for epoxy and expansion anchors, structural steel, and field welding. Also, provide City of Tucson special inspection certificate(s) with Parts A and B completed. Make sure that the owner or their legal representative signs the form. Sheet A8 1. Review 2018 IBC Sec. 2902.2 and 2018 IPC Sec. 403.2; separate facilities shall be provided for each sex. Facilities under this code section consist of toilets, urinals, lavatories, and/or showers. The code does not provide for grouped restroom lavatories in one room shared by both sexes. {You could have several family or assisted-use restrooms, with each restroom containing a toilet and lavatory, and supplied with privacy locks or an appeal to the building official to use section 2902.2 exc. 6 of the 2021 IBC for the use of community bathrooms.} STRUCTURAL COMMENTS There are no comments. MECHANICAL COMMENTS Sheet M1 1. Type II hoods shall be installed above dishwashers that produce heat or moisture. Please provide a type II hood over the dishwasher indicated in the dish room. [Ref. Please start a new FUP at our permit application web page: https://tdc-online.tucsonaz.gov/#/home NOTE: Documentation of a cost estimate from your contractor will be required if this project involves any reconstruction, repair, rehabilitation, structurally connected addition, or other improvement of an existing structure (including TIs and solar). Construction of separate builds/new structures does not require a cost estimate to be provided. Construction of new buildings require elevation one foot above the base flood elevation, which may require that the foundation of the building be raised as much as two feet above the existing elevation onsite. Storage buildings with no utilities may be wet floodproofed using flood vents. For all new construction buildings, two elevation certificates must be filled out by a registered land surveyor and submitted to the City, one before the foundation is poured and one after construction is completed.
