1. General / Updates: For project updates, submit sheets with all changes clearly marked in revision clouds. Please
provide a written response to each comment; updates without a clear response may not be reviewed. If you have any
questions regarding the comments, you may contact me directly. Updates may result in additional comments.
2. General / Special Inspection Certificate: Please have the Registered Design Professional in Responsible Charge of
this project complete and return the City of Tucson Special Inspections Certificate with signatures. The form can be
downloaded at: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/sharedassets/public/city-services/planning-developmentservices/documents/special_inspection_certificate.pdf
3. General / Geotechnical Report: Please provide a copy of the site-specific geotechnical report for this project. The
report should support the appropriateness of the selected foundation system for the project site. All submitted
geotechnical reports must be dated no later than three years from the submittal date. Outdated reports must be
accompanied by a letter from a qualified geotechnical engineer stating that the report requirements are still valid, or
stating what items may have changed. All building code references must be updated to the current code adopted by
the City.
4. Sheet S111 / Roof Framing Plan / Future Heat Pump: The Roof Framing Plan Keynote 11 refers to framing for a future
heat pump to be supported on the pre-fabricated wood roof trusses. For purposes of coordination with the truss
manufacturer, please indicate a maximum point load for this future unit on plan.
5. Sheets S111 & S301 / Conflicting Information: Roof Framing Plan Keynote 6 and Detail C3 on Sheet S301 provide
conflicting information on fasteners connecting the wood shear wall end studs to the adjacent HSS steel column.
Because the steel column's anchor bolts are acting as hold downs at these locations, please confirm the fasteners
necessary to transfer overturning forces from the wood shear walls to the HSS columns. Revise drawings to be
consistent.
6. Sheet S201 / Detail C5 / Maximum Height for Light Poles: The Engineer of Record has provided a foundation detail for
proposed light poles on the property. Because light poles are being specified by another discipline, it is recommended
that the EOR indicate a maximum allowable height for which the foundation has been designed.

1. Sheet G003/Occupant Load: The occupant load calculation is incorrect. The waiting room has not been accounted for
in the calculation. There is a distinct difference between occupancy classification and occupancy use. The exceptions
provided in Section 303.1.2 apply to that of classification and the requirements of max. allowable area, height, stories,
mix-use requirements and overall classification of the building. So yes, this room is considered as business in the
overall context of the structure and can comply with the business requirements previously mentioned. However, when
calculating occupant loads, one must calculate based on the use of the space. The waiting room's use is assembly,
and the occupant load must be calculated as such. Provide a space-by-space corrected occupant load calculation.
