Asia Pavilion AA
1. Indicate the proposed furniture layout for the dining room on the code plan sheet AA0.1. The exit distance from the far corner of the Women’s restroom shall include the distances required to go around any semi-permanent furniture. 2018 IBC 1017.3.
2. The roof details on sheet AA8.1 indicate a 2x end plate attached to SIP “in a way which accommodates load for bargeboard” fascia and finials. The notes further indicate to see the structural drawings for the attachment of the bargeboard to the 2x blocking. Clarify if the 2x end plate connection is also shown on the structural plans or provide specifics for its attachment to the SIP panel.
3. Clarify the distance from the men’s room door 5 to the hand dryer. It is unknown if the dryer is fully recessed or only partially, and if the distance from the door frame is a minimum of 18” per ICC A117.1-2009 Figure 404.2.3.5.
4. Provide elevation details for the built in cabinetry and sink in the multi-purpose room 1 detail 6 on sheet AA6.2 that is compliant with ICC A117.1-2009.
5. Indicate on the finish schedule on sheet AA2.4 that all interior finishes will be in accordance with 2018 IBC 803.1.

Pheasantry AF
1. Clarify the distance from the family restroom door 4 to the edge of the sink, a minimum of 18” is required per ICC A117.1-2009 Figure 404.2.3.5.
2. Indicate a minimum of 12” on the latch side of the door on the exterior for the doors to the nursing room and family restroom if a latch and closer are provided. The doors to the nursing room 3 and the family restroom 4 would be considered recessed doors since the 3.3” of ridged and 8” of rock wall exceeds the 8” allowed. ICC A117.1-2009
Figure 404.2.3.5. Provide details and update the drawings accordingly to meet the requirements.
3. Clarify the clear width of vestibule 5 on the drawings. The dimensions indicate 5’-5” to the interior of the wall. Once you subtract the 8” CMU, 3.3” of ridged and the 8” rock wall, there is 45.7” left which is not sufficient. A minimum of 48” is required for a recessed door. ICC A117.1-2009 Figure 404.2.3.5.

1. Update the exit travel distance in the keeper area to show it ending up at the door, not the adjacent wall.
2. Provide ramp details or indicate on the drawings where these details can be found. This would include the clear width, maximum rise/ run, platforms, guards, and other pertinent information. 2018 IBC 1012.
3. Provide stair details or indicate on the drawings where these details can be found. This would include the clear width, maximum height of risers, minimum tread size, platforms, guards, and handrails. (The detail only indicates to divide the dimensions equally for the treads and risers. Risers shall be 4” minimum and 7” maximum in height. Treads shall be 11” minimum in depth. Reptile building AR
1. Provide a code plan including exiting distances and occupant load for the enclosed aviary that is open to the public.
2. Correct the millwork elevation for the keeper’s workspace interior elevation and indicate a max height of 34” above the finished floor for the counter and sink. ICC A117.1-2009 Figure 308.3.2 and 606.3.
3. Provide a height for the built in office countertop on the elevations sheet AR3.3. ICC A117.1-2009 Figure 308.3.2.
4. Clarify the distance from the staff restroom door 19 to the edge of the sink, a minimum of 18” is required per ICC A117.1-2009 Figure 404.2.3.5.
