| 04/06/2026 | Commercial Mechanical Standard | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | ACTIVITY NO. TC-COM-0326-00366 ADDRESS/PARCEL: (331 S OLSEN AV TUCSON, AZ 85719) Submit your revised drawings along with a detailed response letter, which states how all comments were addressed. Review will not proceed without the response letter. The submitted documents were incomplete and a thorough plan review could not be performed. Please be aware, new comments may arise with the next review. If you have any questions about these review comments, I can be reached at Sean.Severson@tucsonaz.gov COMMENTS: 1. Section 606.2.2 of the 2024 IMC requires smoke detectors where multiple air-handling systems share common return air ducts or plenums with a combined design capacity greater than 2,000 CFM. HVAC Units 4, 5, and 6 appear to share a common return, as the sales areas and mezzanine are open to each other. Additionally, HVAC Unit 6 serves multiple separate spaces (office and storage), so smoke could be spread beyond the space where it was generated. Provide smoke detectors in the return air ducts, upstream of any outside air connections, for these units. Reference: Sections 606.2.1 and 606.2.2, IMC 2024. 2. The outside air quantities shown in the Heat Pump Unit Schedule do not appear to be consistent with the Outside Air Ventilation Schedule. Note 1 in the Heat Pump Schedule indicates 25% outside air. Revise the schedules as needed to ensure consistency. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2024. |
