Provide metering faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09. 3. Provide tempered water for the restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 419.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2018. 4. Provide details to show that the construction of the shower room floor complies with the requirements of Section 421.5, IPC 2018. 5. Provide sufficient information to show that the installation of the new plumbing fixtures will not cause the existing water supply and sanitary waste to become overloaded. 6. Section 604.1, IPC 2018 allows water distribution systems to be designed using accepted engineering methods. Provide the source of the method used to determine the water demand and size the water distribution system. 7. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper, PEX, or CPVC piping). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1” Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2018. 8. The developed length of the hot water supply piping appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2018 and C404.5, IECC 2018. 9. Verify that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for the new public lavatories complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018. 10. Show that each trap and trapped fixture (e.g., the new restroom lavatories) has been vented in accordance with one of the methods shown in the IPC. Reference: Section 901.2.1, IPC 2018. |
