| 05/01/2025 | Design Review Standard | NOT REQUIRED | This project involves replacement of the existing cooling tower serving the existing water cooled chilled water plant. The cooling tower is located on the 3rd Floor roof adjacent to other existing equipment consisting of two identical cooling towers and two radiators connected to the standby AC power plant. This is a direct replacement project of failed equipment and nothing new is being added to the roof, as shown on the elevation drawings. As this is replacement materials due to needed repairs, and no alterations are being proposed, no RNA/historic preservation review is required. If you have any questions, please let me know: maria.gayosso@tucsonaz.gov. Thank you. | ||

| 04/26/2025 | Commercial Building Standard | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | Structural(S) Reviewer Madeline Nelson mnelson@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 4/25/2025 4:36:36 PM General / Updates: For project updates, please submit sheets with all changes clearly marked in revision clouds. Please provide a written response to each comment; updates without a clear response may not be reviewed. If you have any questions regarding the comments, you may contact me directly. Updates may result in additional comments. Sheet S1.0 / Risk Category: Please update the structural construction documents submitted by Grenier Engineering, Inc to indicate the Risk Category for this project as defined in the 2018 International Building Code, Table 1604.5. Please note that the construction documents submitted by Complete Project Solutions have indicated that this project falls under Risk Category III. Drawings from both engineering parties should be consistent, unless a written explanation can be provided. Sheet S1.0 / Design Criteria / Seismic design: The structural general notes state that the proposed work does not impact the existing lateral system for the building, and therefore, an analysis of the seismic-force resisting system is not required. However, by introducing new openings in the exterior tilt-up walls, the proposed work will impact lateral system if the existing building uses ordinary or special reinforced concrete shear walls. Please review the lateral design of the completed building and list all design criteria that was assumed at the time of analysis. Sheet S1.0 / Details 101 thru 104 / New openings in tilt-up walls: The details on Sheet S1.0 do not indicate a maximum allowable opening width or new entries at the west exterior wall. Please provide a dimension, either on plan or in the details, that shows the maximum opening that a L4x4x1/4 lintel is capable of supporting.
