This letter reflects comments to be addressed. PLEASE send all response to comments back to the City through the permit portal! Responses sent directly to Stantec will be ignored. Also, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed. Please cloud and delta all changes and provide a letter with a written response to each of the comments indicating the action taken. The scope of this review covers the architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical designs as they relate to the codes adopted by the jurisdiction. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. Special Inspections: Epoxy and expansion anchors, structural steel, high-strength bolts, field welding. ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS General 1. Please indicate on the cover page that the automatic fire sprinkler system [2018 IBC Sec. 903] are to be provided as part of this project and are to be submitted as a separate permit (not a deferred submittal). 2. Note on the cover of the drawings that special inspection is required for epoxy and expansion anchors, structural steel, high-strength bolts, field welding. Also, provide City of Tucson special inspection certificate(s) with Parts A and B completed. Make sure that the owner or their legal representative signs the form. 3. The plans indicate that a racking system will be provided. Either provide the documents now or list on the cover sheet as a deferred submittal and include the following notes: PER IBC Section 107.3.4 <Name of Registrant>, the registered design professional in charge shall be responsible for reviewing and coordinating submittal documents prepared by others, including phased and deferred submittal items, for compatibility with the design of the building. PER IBC Section 107.3.4.1 Submittal documents for deferred submittal items shall be submitted to the registered design professional in responsible charge, who shall review them and forward them to the Building Official with a notation indicating that the deferred submittal documents have been reviewed and that they have been found to be in general conformance with the design of the building. Sheet A0.1 1. The code analysis indicates conflicting information regarding Occupancy Groups. The “Occupancy Classification” Section indicates Groups F-2, S-2, and B but the “Fire Resistance Ratings of Exterior Walls” Section indicates Groups F-2, S-2, B, and H-4. Please clarify if the H-4 is present and indicate methods to comply with Section 507.8 of the 2018 International Building Code. Please note: If the H-4 Occupancy is present we will need to know what hazardous material is used, the amount, and location. 2. Please provide fixture calculations indicating the minimum number of required fixtures for the proposed uses in accordance with Table 2902.1 of the 2018 International Building Code. Sheet A2.1 1. The windows within the 1-hour fire barrier do not indicate that they are rated fire window assemblies. Further, the windows within the 1-hour barriers are not permitted per Table 716.1(3) except as permitted as part of the fire-rated wall assembly in accordance with section 716.1.2.3. {The unlimited area building does not require a rated separation between the B occupancy and S-2/F-2 Occupancies. Why is this wall being proposed as a 1-hour fire barrier?} Sheet A8.0 1. Please indicate all fire doors as self- or automatic-closing. [Ref. IBC 2018 Sec. 716.2.6.1] STRUCTURAL COMMENTS Sheet 2.0 1. The sheet does not indicate a description for Keynote 106. Please revise. MECHANICAL COMMENTS Sheet M2.1 1. Please provide an energy conservation compliance report for the proposed mechanical systems. [Ref. IECC 2018 Sec. C403] PLUMBING COMMENTS There are no comments. ELECTRICAL COMMENTS Sheet E2.1 1. The plans do not include sufficient exit signs at the racking areas to clearly indicate the direction of egress travel in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Please revise. [Ref. IBC 2018 Sec. 1013.1] Sheet E4.1 1. Please indicate on the one-line diagram the withstand ratings (KAIC) for D-NLA, D-PW, ENHA. [Ref.
