SUBJECT: Los Reales Sustainability Campus – Stamped Plans – Clearance letter
Dear CDRC Admin Support:
Please let this letter serve as our clearance letter for the Los Reales Sustainability Campus project. We have reviewed your stamped
plans for the subject project and find that TEP existing facilities are currently depicted accurately with no identified conflicts.
Contractor may need Overhead protection at the locations below, however, precaution should be taken with any work around TEP
overhead and underground lines. Please require your contractor to access the sites below for overhead and underground protection
requirements in advance of construction activity to ensure they address all overhead and excavation protection needs. Please see the
attached contact sheet for additional information to share with the project Contractor.
Please maintain drivable access to TEP poles, equipment and facilities throughout the design and during construction. The relocation of
TEP facilities such as underground feeder and 46kV and higher voltages is limited to TEP’s off-peak season, October through April.
TEP poles will remain in place until all other joint-use participants have transferred facilities from TEP poles. For the latest TEP Electric
Service Requirements and Construction Standards, please visit our web site at https://www.tep.com/Customer/Construction/ESR/.
Please notify your contractor to contact Blue Stake for the location of existing electric facilities and to comply with Arizona Blue Stake
law regarding safe approach distances and the protection of electrical facilities. Please contact TEP directly at 520-917-2617 a minimum
of 10 working days in advance to request overhead or excavation protection. Overhead excavation or protection is billable to the
contractor. It is the contractor’s responsibility to protect TEP facilities. If damage occurs, the total cost to repair those facilities will be
billable to the contractor. For more information, Please have your contractor visit the TEP website at
https://www.tep.com/Resources/Safety/Overhead/.
For any questions, please contact me at 520-449-4309.
Sincerely,
Miranda Jackson

• DESIGN REQUIREMENT: In the ultimate design and throughout construction of the project, please maintain drivable
access to TEP poles, equipment and facilities.
• TEP CONSTRUCTION LIMITATIONS: The relocation of TEP facilities (or tie-ins) such as underground 14kV
feeder, 46kV, 138kV or higher voltage is limited to TEP’s off-peak season, October through April. The lead time for
138kv and higher voltage transmission line relocations is 9 months minimum.
• JOINT ATTACHMENTS: TEP poles will remain in place until all other joint-use participants have transferred their
facilities from TEP poles. TEP notifies joint use participants of designs in advance of construction and upon completion
of construction. The timing and completion of joint use participant work is NOT the responsibility of TEP.
• POLE REMOVAL: For overhead to underground conversions, TEP poles will remain in place until ALL customers
have converted their overhead service points to underground service points. Service points include meters for traffic
signals, streetlights, residential & commercial buildings, etc.
• OVERHEAD & EXCAVATION PROTECTION: Please contact TEP at 520-917-2617 a minimum of 10 working
days in advance to request overhead protection. Overhead protection is billable to the contractor.
• Pole bracing may be necessary, depending upon your prime contractor’s construction sequence. Any temporary
construction to accommodate sequencing is billable to the contractor.
• BLUE STAKE: Please comply with Arizona Blue Stake law regarding safe approach distances to electrical facilities.
The de-energizing of some TEP facilities, such as underground 14kV feeder, 46kV or higher voltage, is limited to TEP’s
off-peak season, October through April. Please schedule work near these types of TEP facilities accordingly (booms of
augers/cranes, heavy equipment, trenching, etc.).
• Please contact Arizona Blue Stake for the location of existing underground electric facilities. It is the contractor’s
responsibility to protect TEP facilities. If damages occur, the total cost to repair those facilities is billable to the
contractor.

Traffic Engineering Review REVIEW COMPLETED Traffic Engineering comments marked up on Sheets 107-111 (RD21 - RD25). The plans already had some red markups embedded in the PDF, mostly regarding YDS4-D40/D40 striping. We agree with those comments. FYI, seems comments provided on 100% set in August 2024 were not addressed (8/30/24, per my records).
