Detached structure, formerly a garage, at rear of property, adjacent to Herbert Ave. This is NOT a contributing structure for the West University Historic District. It was badly built of stacked and unreinforced flue blocks,covered with plaster, at time unknown, though the flue blocks date to the 1960's. An impact (from a truck?) has recently knocked some of the blocks out, and the structure is in danger of imminent collapse. There are no water or electrical connections, and no insulation or asbestos. The roof, partly collapsed, is of rolled asphalt on plywood. I seek permission for total demolition and removal of the structure, including the concrete slab underneath it. I have no plans to build a replacement structure at this time.
