| 09/27/2024 | SITE - Zoning Final | N/A | Not Ready | I met with the contractor and looked over the site to see what type of work is being done for this project. The contractor is working on grading for the drainage swells on the north side of the building for sidewalk and curbs along the north side of the property. I have advised him on the west side of the property the sidewalk that he has forming noncompliant areas which will create problems when we come to do our inspections if they don’t make adjustments. I’ve advised them to give me at least 12 inches from the joint line of the existing concrete to the new concrete to make that as a sacrificial piece, the existing concrete is noncompliant for sloping grade. On the east side of the property they will be making new areas for the handicap parking and I remind him of all the conditions that we will be looking for for any handicap parking space access, aisle, or adjacent concrete sidewalk. I advised him to contact his engineer and ensure that everything is being done correctly so that they are not wasting time and tearing out concrete. I also reminded him that in the front access area where the vehicular pavement grades and the sidewalk grades are the same plane will require that bollards be placed along that roadway all the way through that area, every 5 feet apart and secure that we have 6 inch vertical separation, vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic. |
