| 10/27/2026 | COT - RSBU - Excavation/Rebar/Zoning | Re-inspection required | Good evening, The footings were poured prior to inspection. Based on the pictures provided, I have several concerns regarding the installation. First, the piping installed within the footings would not be permitted without the appropriate protective measures. Second, the reinforcing steel (rebar) appears to be less than the required 3 inches of concrete cover from the earth. Additionally, we would need to verify the drilled holes into the existing concrete to ensure proper installation. An approved epoxy anchoring system would also be required, as applicable. A detailed plan would need to be submitted for review and approval, outlining how the undermining of the existing footing would be addressed and how the new work would be properly tied into the existing footing. I also spoke with Clayton, who stated that he did not approve the installation and that an inspection should have been conducted prior to the concrete pour. These concerns will need to be addressed and the appropriate documentation submitted for review before we can determine the next steps. |
