08/23/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved VISITED SITE, UPON ARRIVAL MET WITH TFD FIRE FIGHTERS WHO STATED A PIPE BROKE IN THE BATHROOM OF UNIT # 803 AND MINOR WATER DAMAGED WAS FOUND SEEPING OUT OF THE WALLS IN THE UNITS BELOW AND THE UNIT TO THE WEST ON THE 7TH AND 6TH FLOORS. WATER HAD BEEN TURNED OFF TO THE 8TH FLOOR AND WHEN I ARRIVED IN UNIT 803 MAINTANENCE HAD ALREADY COMPLETED MAKING A REPAIR TO WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE A BROKEN ANGLE STOP. HEAD MAINTANENCE PERSON STATED HE HAD BEEN TO ALL UNITS AND THAT THE WATER DAMAGE WAS MINIMAL EXCEPT FOR UNITS 803 AND 703 AND THAT MANAGER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF RELOCATING THEM FOR THE NIGHT. WATER EXTRACTION (ABRACADABRA) HAD BEEN CONTACTED AND WERE IN ROUTE AND ONE OF THEIR INSPECTORS WOULD BE HERE THE FOLLOWING DAY TO MITIGATE ANY ISSUES. I MET WITH THE MANAGERS WHO INFORMED ME OCCUPANTS WERE BE HOUSED IN EMPTY UNITS FOR THE NIGHT, WATER EXTRATION TO BE HERE SHORTLY AND ASKED I WALK THE UNITS WITH THEM.
STARTING FROM THE 8TH FLOOR: UNIT 802 HAD VERY MINOR SEEPING BELOW THE BATHROOM WALL AND ANOTHER DRIP AT THE BEDROOM DOOR. WATER WIPED UP WITH A TOWEL. OCCUPANT WILL STAY.
UNIT 801 AGAIN MINOR WATER DAMAGE IN THE KITCHEN AREA, NO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. OCCUPANTS ALLOWED TO STAY.
UNIT 703 HAD A FAIR AMOUNT OF WATER BUT HAD ONLY 2 OCCUPANTS. WATER FOUND IN THE SHOWER CANNED LIGHT, WATER WAS RELEASED SO THAT FIXTURE COULD DRY OUT. ASKED OCCUPANTS NOT TO USE THE SHOWER LIGHT FOR 24 TO 48 HRS. OCCUPANTS TO BE HOUSED.
UNIT #701 HAD MINOR WATER DAMAGE IN THE KITCHEN, LIGHT IN THE SHOWER LIGHT WAS REMOVED SO THAT LIGHT COULD DRY OUT, OCCUPANTS ASKED NOT TO USE SHOWER LIGHT FOR 24- 48.
UNIT 603 HAD MINOR WATER DAMAGE, LIGHT IN SHOWER REMOVED TO DRY OUT THE FIXTURE. OCCUPANTS OK TO STAY
UNIT 601 VERY MINOR WATER ISSUES, LIGHT IN SHOWER REMOVED TO DRYOUT. OK TO STAY.
UNIT 503 NEEDED SHOWER LIGHT TO BE REMOVED TO DRY OUT FIXTURE, ASKED NOT TO USE SHOWER LIGHT FOR 24 TO 48 HRS.
UNIT 504 RECIVED VERY MINOR WATER DAMAGE , OCCUPANT CHOOSES TO STAY WITH A FRIEND UNTIL CARPET IS DRY.
LATER MET WITH FIRE MARSHALL INFORMED HIM OF UITS AFFECTED WHO WAS STAYING AND WHAT UNITS ALLOWED TO STAY. FIRE MARSHALL INFORMED OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH SHOWER LIGHTS AND ISSUE WAS REMEDIED. FIRE MARSHALL NOTIFIED THAT ANGLE STOP IN UNIT 803 WAS REPAIRED AND WATER RESTORED. FIRE MARSHALL ELECTED NOT TO ISSUE NOV AS WORK WAS IN PROGRESS TO EXTRACT WATER AND HOUSE THOSE NEEDING HOUSING. DUE WORK IN PROGRESS AND DAMAGED ANGLE STOP REPAIRED AND WATER RESTORED C/E ALSO ELECTED NOT TO ISSUE A NOV AS MANAGEMENT DID A GOOD JOB OF ADDRESSING OCCUPANTS NEEDS OF EACH UNIT AND DETERMINING WHAT WAS REQUIRED. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT JOHNSON CONTROLS WOULD BE INSPECTING THE ENTIRE COMPLEX ON 8/31FOR ALL SMOKE ALARMS, WATER RISERS ELECTRICAL ISSUES ETC.. WORK IS IN PROGRESS.
