04/24/2017 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Assisted Inspector Vidal
04/24/2017 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Had a joint inspection with the Health Department, T.F.D., pest control company and T.P.D. on site to assist on the inspection. Health Department did check the units that were checked on Thursday and had very little change in the bed bugs. The manager was being put on notice for the bed bugs, not changing the linens weekly or when new tenants are moved in, and other issues. The bed bugs has gone into the hallway and into other units and will need to have it addressed. Did have a pest control company on site and unit 154 and 156 were checked for the bed bugs and the area has expanded into the hallway and other other rooms. The recommendation was to remove all the bedding and furniture out of the units to be treated. Was asking that the cutains and carpet be removed due to the amount of bed bugs in the rooms. There was no indication of anyone moving out of the units and did meet with the manager to let him know that the building was being condemned and that the power will be removed at the pole to the south building only and leaving the north building on at this time. The Redcross was called to the property to help on the placement of the tenants. Did do posting on the units occupied and on the exterior doors on both floors and on the fencing. Did serve the manager the Notice to Vacate, Notice of Violation and the Indemnification. Did let the manager know that the building needs to be kept secured at all times or the City of Tucson will secure if called to the site due to being unsecured. Due to the Redcross still on site and will be there for awhile and T.P.D. on site, left the site to the office. Will check in 10 days. RV.
