Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were checking for hot spots. The fire was in the rear porch where the owner was cooking meat in grease pots. The grease caught fire due to not attended. The fire damaged the wood frame porch and some wood siding to a room on the south side. Some wiring to added lights on the roof part of the porch and outlets on the wall were burned. They were connected to the exterior light fixture. Was trying to leave the power on but the main disconnect has a broken bar on the handle to remove and turn on the power. Placed a city lock and will require an upgrade for the electrical to be turned back on. The gas meter was pinned due to the power being turned off. The interior of the house was OK but has some light smoke damage. The fire was in grease pots and those were place in the yard area. They were on gas burners that were not connected to the house.
