Received call from Joseph that T.F.D. on site with a electrical fire in the ladies bathroom. Arrived and the fire was ready to leave and had a fire on the exhaust fan in the ladies bathroom. The fan had been removed and had wire nuts on the ends of the romex. The power was turned back on and all was working. Found other issues with the electrical panel on the exterior where lacking a protective cover over a opening where a breaker is not placed. The romex under the panel was not protected and was less than 8'. Had a j-box that was lacking the cover plate. Those issues were shown to the workers and they will address the issues in the storage room in the rear of the building. The light fixture in the ladies bathroom is lacking the lens and was pulled off during the fire. Will be placed back on the light fixture. The manager of the business has called an electrician and will be on site tomorrow to look and make the repairs needed to install the exhaust fan back into the opening. The business can remain opened and will check in 5 days. RV. |
