Date Description Inspector Results Comments
09/04/2014 FIRE - FINAL Approved Arrangements will occur between TFD and owner's to address Vertical enclosure requirements from Chapter 11 of the 2012 IFC.
08/26/2014 FIRE - FINAL Partial Approval Temporary 30 day approval only.
The code review on the submitted plans was not correct. The building does not have an approved automatic fire sprinkler system throughout and therefore the credits taken are not allowed. The vertical openings need to be protected per 2012 IFC Chapter 11 or the entire building throughout needs to be protected with an approved automatic fire sprinkler system. An analysis of the existing building including the type of construction and existing rated walls needs to be completed by the Architect. The existing partial fire sprinkler system should have been required to be monitored by a fire alarm panel. This will be required for this building because more than 100 fire sprinklers were installed and that was the threshold for the requirement. Additional conditions/comments may be included following the analysis of the building by the Architect.
08/25/2014 FIRE - FINAL Denied 1. Entranceway into Atchiley hall is missing their 1 hr. fire rated doors approved plans show they were their need to replace both fire doors or have the architect write a letter as to why the fire doors are no longer needed.
2. Roll down fire door behind door going to the restrooms cannot shut fully for the following reasons:
a. Door closer in the way
b. A screw for the hand rail for the stairs is screwed all the way through the track for the roll down door.
Will need to repair roll down door and replace painted links.
3. Exit sign failed to work in kitchen on battery backup when power was shut down.
