11/28/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Communication called and T.F.D. on site with a water line break. Arrived and bottom unit is leaking water from the ceiling and not able to enter the upper unit. The water has been turned off at the main valve to the building shutting the water off to the whole building. Water leak was near the toilet and had the water turned back on to check where the water was coming from. The cap on the flushing valve came off and letting the water hit the lid and go onto the flooring and flooding the unit. Their was no one home and the manager out of town gave permission for T.F.D. to break the window to enter the unit to check what is going on with the water leaking. The window was able to open with out breaking the glass and opened the door. Once in the unit found the issues with the toilet. The manager gave permission for T.F.D. to call Deans Plumbing to check the issues with the plumbing. Deans Plumbing arrived and changed the flushing valve in the toilet and water was tuned back on. Once the repair made did watch for water leaks in the bottom unit and found none. A rep. from another complex arrived and was looking at the damage to the units and called the manager out of town to let them know the status. Once the water was OK, T.F.D. left the scene. The tenant never showed to the unit and the management signed all the paper work. Gave a N.O.V. and the indemnification was given due to the company was coming to extract and the management was going to secure the unit once they were done. Will check in 10 days. RV.
