Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Cube adapters being used in front and along side walls. TFC REFERENCE: 605.4 Multiplug adapters. Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with the ICC Electrical Code shall be prohibited. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Plug appliances directly into outlet or use power strip. ___2. PROBLEM: Extension cords used up in front area. TFC REFERENCE: 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Plug appliances directly into outlets or use power strips. ___3. PROBLEM: Combustibles and lint buildup behind dryer. TFC REFERENCE: Section 316.2 Clothes dryers.(cot mod) Clothes dryers shall be frequently cleaned to maintain the lint trap and mechanical and heating components free from excessive accumulations of lint. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Keep area behind dryer free of lint and commbustible waste. ___4. PROBLEM: Escutcheon missing from sprinkler head above dryer. TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Replace missing escutcheon on sprinkler head. ___5. PROBLEM: Combustibles stored around base of water heater. TFC REFERENCE: 305.1 Clearance from ignition sources. Clearance between ignition sources, such as luminaires, heaters, flame-producing devices and combustible materials, shall be maintained in an approved manner. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Keep immediate area around base of water heater free of combustible storage. ___6. PROBLEM: Fire extinguisher last serviced in 2005. TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Nonrequired fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have fire extinguisher serviced yearly or remove from premises.
