Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Lighted Exit signs not functioning above front and rear exit. TFC REFERENCE: 1011.2 Illumination. Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have exit signs serviced so they are properly illuminated. ___2. PROBLEM: Electrical panel in back room blocked by storage. TFC REFERENCE: 605.3Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches (1981 mm) in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. Where the electrical service equipment is wider than 30 inches (762 mm), the working space shall not be less than the width of the equipment. No storage of any materials shall be located within the designated working space. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Clearance around electrical panel shall be as per code requirement. ___3. PROBLEM: Combustible materials stored around base of water heater. TFC REFERENCE: 305.1 Clearance from ignition sources. Clearance between ignition sources, such as luminaires, heaters, flame-producing devices and combustible materials, shall be maintained in an approved manner. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Combustible materials shall not be stored around base of water heater ___4. PROBLEM: Storage around sprinkler riser TFC REFERENCE: 508.5.4 Obstruction. Posts, fences, vehicles, growth, trash, storage and other materials or objects shall not be placed or kept near fire hydrants, fire department inlet connections or fire protection system control valves in a manner thatwould prevent such equipment or fire hydrants from being immediately discernible. The fire department shall not be deterred or hindered from gaining immediate access to fire protection equipment or fire hydrants. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Provide reasonable clearance around riser for TFD access. ___5. PROBLEM: No evidence of sprinkler system being serviced. TFC REFERENCE:901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Contact building maintenance regarding getting sprinkler system serviced. ___6. Key box missing key for sprinkler riser room. TFC REFERENCE:506.2 Key box maintenance. The operator of the building shall immediately notify the fire code official and provide the new key when a lock is changed or rekeyed. The key to such lock shall be secured in the key box.
