Date Description Inspector Results Comments
02/14/2007 BUILDING - PROGRESS Partial Approval The results of a preliminary inspection for purposes of a temporary Certificate of Occupancy are as follows:

1) All egress doors have hardware installed that is inaccessible to children. If something were to happen to a teacher in an individual classroom there is no way for the children to safely exit nor notify other adults in a timely manner.
2) The main entrance has an enclosure with a gate that would interfere with a timely exit in the event of an emergency.
3) Emergency exit lighting could not be tested. Illuminated exit signs have not been installed.
4) The dead-front at the electric service entrance requires repair.
5) Toilet facilities do not meet code standards for sanitation (caulking of fixtures, split front toilet seats, non-listed fittings, non-permitted fixtures installed).
6) Kitchen sinks, hand sinks and utility sinks have been improperly installed.
7) One or more IIB shade structures (canopy over steel frame) have been erected without necessary permits or inspection.
8) One or more VB shade structures (canopy or wood on wood frame) have been erected without necessary permits.
9) Exterior soffits are in a state of decay. Exterior envelope needs to have all penetrations sealed.

Owner will need to acknowledge that professionally developed floor plans for the site and buildings will need to be presented for code review and inspection before any permanent Certificate of Occupancy may be issued. Further owner will need to acknowledge that items listed above are not the complete list of corrections that will be required for permanent CofO.

Items 3-9 above may be addressed during permanent CofO process. Items 1and 2 will have to be addressed before issuing a temporary CofO.
