Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. This buliding is not occupied at the time and there was a lock put on the outside of the rear door to prevent entry. Someone also had installed a slide-bolt on the inside of the door at some point which is also a fire code violation. I spoke to the owner of the building and gave him until Wednesday October 11, 2006 to abate both issues the issue. I also spoke to the complainant who appearantly was the previous occupant and advised him of my findings. |
