Removed the 3000 gallon UST and piping. Performed 2 soil samples under the tank and 3 under the piping. No visual evidence of leaking. The smell of fuel was present, most likely due to the lack of overfill bucket on the fill line. The oder was concentrated in that area. ADEQ closure # LV8465 |

Site Investigation of property. Verified with owner that there was an existing 3000 gal steel UST on property. He stated that he could produce a letter from the state saying that it was "grandfathered" and was there legally. I explained to him that without documentation that he would have to remove the tank. The tank has been in place since 1975 and was installed by one of his tenants. I told him that I would follow up in 1 week to allow him time to produce any pertinent documentation. |
