Arrived to scene at 331 PM with TPD on scene of a motor vehicle accident into a pillar on the outside of the commercial shopping center. Call was received under 4096 E 22nd St however the pillar is directly in front of 4092. The stucco facade of the metal support column has cracking and damage, and is pushed in towards the building, with cracking where the facade meets the ceiling. The wood under the stucco is decayed and has signs of rotting, and has been removed in this area. The metal support column appears to be in tact with no visible damage to it. Once additional stucco and wood is removed, damage may be visible. However, there is no signs the metal support column has been separated from the foundation. There is no visible cracking or sagging in the ceiling area extending out on either side of the column. The area was caution taped off and property management was notified. A notice of violation was posted and will be mailed directing the owner to make repairs with a licensed contractor and issued building permit within 60 days. -VM |
