Arrived on scene at 11:09 PM. Per TFD, the fire was started in the bedroom in the Southwest corner of the home. The fire was believed to have been started by squatters inside the structure as the home was previously condemned. In addition, lighters and drug paraphernalia, as well as debris consistent with homeless and squatting activity was found in the room. The roof was not breached by TFD. On the east side of the structure, the two front rooms sustained Smoke damage throughout. The ceiling is cut down in multiple areas. There is an electrical line cut in the room at the north east corner of the structure where a window swamp cooler was previously installed. In the Southwest corner bedroom, the window is removed, was previously boarded. There is damage to the stucco and underlying Adobe loadbearing wall, as an approximately 1 foot wide by 3 foot tall section of Adobe is missing. The roof structural members are damaged and splintered as well as fire damaged in this room. The electrical devices are burned. The visible wiring in the structure is metal clad cable, and is likely heat damaged on the inside. On the west wall, the rear door is removed and Adobe wall is damaged in the area, door frame is removed. In the north west corner room, there is heavy smoke damage and drywall damage, drywall has been removed in areas. On the outside of the structure, the water heater has been knocked over onto the ground, is no longer connected. There is damaged electrical conduit which is leaving exposed conductors. The main electrical panel on the southwest corner of the structure is wet due to firefighting activities and water on breakers. The electrical meter and gas meter are both removed prior to my arrival. There are two detached structures on site and both were previously boarded, and are now breached. It is known that the property owner is in jail and as such is unable to secure his property. A city contractor was called to secure the property. ENERGOV CHARACTER LIMIT -VM |
