In Violation |
No work has been done. Violations include: cockroach infestation, a boarded window, non-operational smoke detectors, vents falling off of the wall, roof damage that is evidnced by an ongoing water leak in the kichen ceiling, overgrown vegetation in the front and side of the unit, a stove that dos not work, and a stove vent that has a fan that turns on but the venting goes nowhere and is boarded. I spoke to the owner and expressed my deep concern that hewas not takingthis seriously and that his property manaement had lied to me about what had been done and lied to him about the same items. I told him his time would be better spent calling companies who can resolve the most urgent issues rther than finding a new property management company given the tight timline I have provided him. He asked for a brief extension and I told him I would provide him 48 hours to address the smoke detectors and bug infestation. Failure to complete these items will result in the issuance of a citation. |

The ceiling has been patched but the roof has not been repaired. The infestation is ongoing. I called the tenant who said a pest control company came and said they would need to service the unit several times (4-8 times) over several weeks until the issue would be fully resolved. I confirmed this with the pest control company. I then told the tenant that if the issue was still not being treated by monday I would have to condemn the unit. I informed the owner and he expressed that he was trying his hardest to solve the issue. After speaking with Robert gonzelez, I decided that if the woner could provide evidence that he had paid for and scheduled the omprehensive treatment that the pest control team suggested, I would cease moving towards condemnation. |
