806 pm - Called out to scene by TPD for a vehicle accident into a commercial building. Vehicle struck the north exterior wall of Sprinkler World store, block wall construction. Area hit has what appears to be a structural block column that runs perpendicular to the north front wall and that column has heavy damage and cracking. The blocks on the north wall have a large section of blocks that are displaced and another large area that has come down to the apparent lentil line where the front window is. There is an electrical circuit in the bricks of the north wall that tested live, store manager isolated power at the breaker for this line. Interior wall 2 X 6s are cracked and damaged. Front window is broken. City contractor was called out to board up and shore up the opening. Repairs are to be made by a licensed contractor with an Issued permit by City of Tucson for all repairs. -VM |
