Arrived on scene at 1029 PM. Per TFD, there was a fire in the water heater area of the garage, possibly due to debris being stored around the water heater. TFD reports there is a charred 2 X 6 inside of the walls in the area of the water heater. Fire also was in the floor joist space in the area above the water heater, however it is unclear if structural members were damaged in this area. The drywall in garage has sustained heavy smoke damage throughout. Upon arrival, Southwest gas was searching for lines and reported no gas service to this residence. TEP was on scene prior to my arrival and electric is off at the meter. Home is condemned and may not be occupied. Owner on site signed indemnification and will secure structure. Permits required for all repairs including the replacement of water heater and use of licensed contractors are required. -VM |
