Arrived on scene at 137 AM and found TFD still on scene. According to TFD, origin of fire was in a storage room at the back of the carport, ceiling was pulled in dwelling to check for fire but fire did not spread to the main structure. Inspection reveals all structural members, including posts and roof structural members of the carport are heavily fire damaged. Roof decking of carport is heavily fire damaged and missing in parts near what appears to be the former storage room. There is exposed bare and burned copper electric wire from a run from electric panel to the carport storage room. This run came out of the electrical panel in a conduit and then had sheathed cable stapled to the roof of the structure. Carport door into home is breached and damage to door frame. There are electrical wires inside of the home abutting the carport wall that have visible signs of melting/fire damage. The interior of the home has ceiling removed and has smoke damage to the interior. Roof structural members over the dwelling near front window abutting the carport area, and at the rear door abutting the carport have visible signs of fire damage. Electric is off at meter upon arrival. SW Gas responded and gas is disconnected at meter. The structure is deemed as unsafe to occupy and has been posted with a red tag. Structure is to be repaired or demolished by a licensed contractor with an Issued permit. -VM |
