| 01/19/2022 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | VIDAL | Approved | Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and all the units have cleared the site and the fire inspector Jim Hines was on site. Had a sprinkler head go off in the Chem Plating Room that has sufur for dipping metals to clean. The area was contained to the overflow walls where the water from the sprinkler head mixed with the sulfur tanks. It appears there was no spill overage from the wall to contain the area. T.F.D. had a hard time getting the water off to the sprinkler head due to the valves were not able to turn easily and needed a wrench to close the valve. The area is soaked with the water from the sprinkler head and not able to change the head at this time due to the heat from the tanks holding the sulfur and will be cleaning the area until they cool down. The company has been called to replace the sprinkler head and will be called once the area is safe to be worked in. The fire iunspector was on site and no fire watch was being requested at this time. Was doing a lock out on the electrical disconnects on the exterior of the building with City locks until the area has been cleaned and the sprinkler head is replaced. Did talk to the head of maintenance and will be calling once the area is cleaned and the tanks have been cooled down. It appears the tanks may have to be drained due to the amount of water mixed with the chemicals. No paperwork done and the workers for maintenance are the only personal to be in the building and working in the area affected. RV. |
| 01/20/2022 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | VIDAL | Approved | The electrical panels have all been pulled apart and cleaned and dried. The transformer have also been pulled apart and checked for water and all are OK. The locks were pulled off the disconnects and the panels were turned back on and all was working fine. Big Bear Electric LLC was the contractor doing the work. The sprinkler head is in the process of being replaced and working on changing all the heads in the room due to the age of the heads. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV. |
