07/21/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved I VISITED THE SITE, KNOCKED ON THE DOOR OF UNIT #202 MANY TIMES BUT RECEIVED NO ANSWER. I WAITED AND KNOCKED AGAIN. THIS IS A FLOOR GROUND UNIT SO IF THEY HAVE A LEAK IT WOULD HAVE TO BE COMING FROM THE UNIT ABOVE. I KNOCKED ON THE DOOR OF THE UNIT ABOVE #206 BUT ALSO RECEIVED NO ANSWER AT THE UNIT. I WENT TO THE MANAGER OFFICE SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER WHO STATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE HAD GONE INTO UNIT 202 AND IDENTIFIED THE AREA OF WHERE THE LEAK WOULD BE COMING FROM. SHE STATED THAT MAINTANENCE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET INSIDE THE UPPER UNIT OF 2O6 TO BE ABLE TO KNOW WHAT THEY NEED TO REPAIR. MANAGER WENT WITH ME TO THE UNIT KNOCKED ON DOOR, CHECKED TO SEE IF THE DOOR WAS LOCKED AND FOUND IT WAS NOT. THE MANNAGER WALKED INSIDE THE UNIT AS I WAITED AT THE DOOR, I ELECTED NOT TO ENTER. MANAGER STATED THAT THE KITCHEN AND BEDROOM WERE FILLED WITH TRASH AND DEBRIS, BATHROOM A MESS AND FROM WHAT I SAW AT THE FRONT DOOR, THE LIVING ROOM ALSO A MESS. MANAGER STATED SHE THE KITCHEN SINK AND COUNTER TOPS WERE FULL OF TRASH AND COULD NOT TELL IF THE LEAK WAS FROM THE SINK OR BATHROOM. I POINTED OUT TO THE MANAGER ALL THE FOIL WRAPPERS AND DRUG PARAPHENALIA THRU OUT THE LIVINGROOM AND KITCHEN/DINING AREA. I ASKED THE MANAGER TO NOTIFY THE REGIONAL MANAGER AND ISSUE A 24 HOUR NOTICE TO ENTER THE UNIT SO REPAIRS COULD BE COMPLETED. I ASKED THAT MAINTANENCE CLEAR THE BALCONY OF THE TRASH AND DEBRIS, AND DAMAGED BED FRAME AND MATTRESS. WE WENT BACK TO THE OFFICE AND I ASKED IF OCCUPANT IN 206 WAS CURRENT ON RENT, THEY FOUND HE WAS 900 DOLLARS BEHIND ON RENT, IT WAS ALSO NOTED THE OCCUPANT CANNOT BE LOCATED. SHE CHECKED 202 AND FOUND ONLY THAT THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED AND OCCUPANT IS STAYING WITH A FRIEND AT THEIR SANTA CRUZ COMPLEX DOWN THE STREET. MANAGER WAS UNABLE TO GET AHOLD OF THE OCCUPANT IN 202 AND I WAS UNABLE TO INSPECT THE UNIT. I WILL FOLLOW UP ON WED. 7/21/21.
09/17/2021 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE GOODMAN Approved REVISITED SITE, KNOCKED ON DOOR OF 202 AND ASKED IF WHE WAS HAVING ANY FURTHER LEAKS, SHE SAID SHE WAS NOT. CHECKED ABOVE UNIT AND FOUND EVICTION NOTICE ON THE WINDOW. OCCUPANT WAS NO LONGER LIVING ABOVE AND UNIT REMAINS VACATED. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
