03/23/2017 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received call from Martin Romero the supervisor to report to the site due to T.P.D. on site and need inspection. Arrived and T.P.D. was on site and completed the investigation on the property and the property was release to code enforcement. While trying to go inside the house found a dog and has been injured. Had to call Animal Control to remove the dog from the house. The dog was taken by Animal Control. Once the dog was removed and the inspection was done. The interior has no clear paths to the doors and windows due to storage and items on the floor, the casement windows have some windows in the rear bolted shut. The house has storage through out the house. Found large rat traps placed through out the house and the roof. The owner has died and the next of kins is a daughter and not able to have the property secured. All the utilities have been removed. Electical was cut at the pole, the gas meter was removed, and for now the water was left on. The pool has been drained while on site. The daughter of the owner was not able to have the property secured and Arcaiden Industries was called to the property to have the property secured. All the openings were secured with plywood on all the doors and windows. Biff Baker Fence was called to have the openings in the wood slat fencing and cover where the gate has been removed. There was a hole in the ground approx. 60' to 75' deep with a concrete curb. Did have a plate that was secured to prevent entry into the hole. Alot of the windows were broken due to the police action to enter the house. Did to the posting on the front and rear of the house and the work shed. Took pictures and left the site once the house and sheds were secured the chainlink fencing was secured. The daughter was given the keys to the locks to enter to have the property cleaned. Posted Do Not Enter on the front and rear of the house including the wood frame storage room used as a shop. Did let the daughter know that she needs to be aware of any on the property at all times. Will check in 30 days. RV.
07/19/2017 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved The property has been cleaned and all the vehicles have been removed from the property. Have talk to the owner and the interior of the house has been cleaned. The tempoary fencing has been removed and placed on the interior of the property. The contractor that was hired by the insurance has installed other fence panels and secured with steel posts in the ground. Did call Biff Baker Fence to have the loose panels and tee posts picked up tomorrow that were used for temporary fencing. Did let the owner know that the case will be closed and that permits will be required to have the electrical and the gas turned back on. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
