12/10/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received call from Rick Saldate the supervisor that T.F.D. on site with a appartment fire. Arrived and the fire units have cleared the site and the fire investigators were on site checking for the cause of the fire. The fire started on the kitchen stove and burned the microwave, cabinets and some of the drywall. Drywall was pulled down to check for fire. The electrical was turned off due to the damage of the fire at the main breaker and locked out. The unit has heavy smoke damage through out the unit. The tenants were going to stay in the unit next door and alll the utilities are on. Did do the posting of "Do Not Enter" and the the property manager signed all the paper work. The fire was contained to the kitchen area with water on the floor. The tenants were going to remove items into the other unit and the manager was going to lock the unit at dark. Will meet at site with the electrician to check on the electrical being turned back on. RV.
12/11/2015 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved Met with the property manager and the electrician and the number for the unit was on the wrong breaker. The power was turned off to unit #414 which was not part of the fire. The power was restored to unit #414 and the numbers changed to proper unit. The electrician was able to make the repairs needed to get the power back on and to leave on. The locks were removed from the main breaker and the contractor turned off the breakers in the unit. Did go over the permit required and talk about a letter from the electrician to have the electrical signed off. They will still need the drywall inspected. The tenants were going to stay in the unit that they are moving into for now. Will check in 30 days. RV.
