08/27/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received a call from communication that a canopy at a shell gas station has damage. Was sent to the wrong address and had to call communication and was given another address from west to east. That address was also wrong and went to Houghton and Valencia where the damage was done. Arrived and the wind had knocked down poles on Houghton Rd. leaving no power to the property. Did have the canopy that was for the gas pumps damaged on the west and north side. The damage was to a parapet wall that had a roof top with mission tile as a small roof. The west side was all on the ground and the north side has been moved and will need to be checked. The north side has been moved and out of plumb to at least half way on the pump area. The canopy has a section that goes to the store and that has no damage at this time. Did ask the manager on site if they had a way of securing the area and she was going to call the main office. She did get with me and stated that they have no means to have the area secured. Did talk to a Tony from the main office and did go over the area that was going to be blocked off and he was OK with the area given to be blocked off. Did call Biff Baker Fencing to have the area fenced off. Did ask for approx. 500 l.f. of fence panels to be brought to the property to block off the area. Did use 38 panels to block the area on the west side of the pumps. Glenn from T.F.D. came on site to allow the use of one pump in each bay due to the way the fencing was going to be placed. Once the area is cleaned and the fencing is remove will allow other pumps to be added. Did lock the fencing with a chain and lock to allow workers to the area and gave the key to the manager. The power was restored and did remove the power to the canopy area for lighting and the facade. The manager did sign the paper work and left the site. Will check in daylight time the areas that were damaged. RV.
09/21/2015 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved All the fence panels have been picked up and taken from the site. The facade has all been removed where the damage was started from the wind damage. Did get the lock and chain from the manager. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case pending billing paid. RV.
