06/13/2015 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | VIDAL | Approved | Communication called that T.P.D on site with a car thru building. Arrived and the vehicle has been moved to a parking spot. The white truck hit the east end of the building and breaking the water lines to two unit of a 2-story building. The wall to the bathroom has been pushed in and breaking the wood frame studs with OSB shearing and has 1" syrofoam with chicking wire and stucco. A HOLD DOWN was in the wall and all the studs have been broken tied to the HOLD DOWN. The interior of the wall was drywall and the tub and shower surround kit was broken with the tub lifted in the air and half of the tub shattered. The toilet and the sink in the bathroom are OK and the bathroom was a second in the hallway away from the other bathroom. The impact pushed the wall where the bathroom door was and has cracks on the drywall over the door and the grill covering for the AC handler and filter has been bent. The north bedroom window has been broken with a cracked pane on the double insulated glass panel on the fixed side. The south bedroom has a hole in the drywall near the bottom next to the bathroom wall. The tenants were not on site and not aware of the accident. The manager is on site and has called a plumber due to the water has been turned off to the property and turning all the water off to all the buildings approx. 10 buildings. A electrician did show to the property and no electrical was in the wall that was hit. Did check the upper unit and no damage was seen and did talk to the tenant and he also checked and found no damage. The upper unit was lacking water due to the line was broken when the bottom unit line was broken. The bathroom wall has a 2020 XO and is OK but will need to be removed when the wood studs are remove from the damage. The owner of the property did show to the site and had the maintenance worker start removing the damaged wall to start making the repairs. Tucson Plumbing did show to the site and the water was going to be turned back on once the repairs are completed. The water line was broken where the PVC meets with the cooper section that enters the units that was connected to PEX for the interior plumbing lines. The owner of the property was trying to keep the tenants in the unit when the repairs were being done. The owner was told no and wanted to talk to a supervisor. Did call Rick Saldate on the phone and went over the situation and due to the owner was going to write a letter who was a general contractor and taking responsiblity and had trades on site to allow the owner to work with the tenant. The tenant did leave the site due to the amount of work being done. The owner was told to get the permit on Monday and not to cover anything until the permit has been issued. The owner did sign the paper work and the letter was written and received it for the file. All the damage wall was removed and they were bringing material to start the replacing of the wall. Will check in 5 days. RV. |
