Arrived and the unit had a fire in the kitchen and burned the cabinet to the left of the stove. The fire was from the top of the stove with grease. The kitchen has heavy smoke with light smoke in the hallway and living room. The light fixture was removed by the owners and the wiring was OK. The light fixture needs to be checked if going to be re-installed. Some of the drywall pulled down to check for fire in the floor joist for the upper units in the kitchen only. The electrical has outlets in the area but all are at the counter top height and are OK. The windows were all opened to get the smoke and smell out. The owner will be able to remain in the unit once the cleaning has been completed. The H.O.A. reps. were on site and were told that the owner can remain in the unit and that a permit is required for the drywall repairs. The cabinets have burning and blistering in the kitchen only. The cabinet on the left was removed from the wall and on the floor. The cabinet will be thrown in the trash due to the damage from the fire. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
