10/02/2014 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4. PERMITS REQUIRED. Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.
10/02/2014 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-11(c) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. (1) All dwellings and dwelling units shall be provided with electrical service. Electrical facilities connected to or in any building or structure are to be maintained hazard-free and in a state of good repair. The electrical system shall be free from such hazards as bare wiring; overloaded circuits or services; equipment not properly grounded; over-fused circuits; misuse of wiring, including the use of extension cords in lieu of permanent wiring; non-approved wiring; and wiring exposed to moisture or extreme heat. Broken, loose, frayed, inoperable, defective or missing portions of the electrical service, lines, switches, outlets, fixtures and fixture coverings shall be repaired or replaced. (2) All electrical equipment, wiring and appliances shall be installed and maintained in a safe manner and in accordance with all applicable laws.

09/30/2014 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received call from communication that T.P.D. on site with a car through building. Arrived and a car did hit the north end of the building of unit #2. The masonry wall was pushed approx. 5" into the structure. The damage was to a bedroom and near a bathroom. Did check if the tub was moved and found no indication that the tub was pushed. Saw no cracks in the drywall in the bathroom. The drywall in the bedroom has cracks where pushed in and around the area that was hit. The masonry wall is approx. 3' high and has wood framing above the masonry. The exterior wall has wood siding with metal siding over the wood. The wood frame wall was pushed in due to moved with the masonry wall and has electrical panels and meter bases for all the units. The metal riser for the electrical was hit and has no damage. The masonry wall has an electrical outlet and moved with the masonry wall and is working. At this time the tenant will be allowed to stay in the unit and not able to make contact with the owner. Did leave a message for the owner to call. The person who hit the building lives in unit #3. Will do N.O.V. at office. RV.
01/29/2015 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE VIDAL Approved Met with the tenant and all the work has been completed. The permit has been issued, T14CM08170 on 1-6-15 and finaled on 1-26-15. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
