Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.

05/01/2014 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT NAVARRO Approved Visited site, inspected, found as follows,found modifications inside unit, modified door to storage area, electrical being modified, sheetrock, painting.Talked to store manaager Albert Acosta, stated that he was just an employee that was working there and he did not know what modifications they were doing, I then advised him that I was going to put a stop work order in and have the remodel halted till a permit was secured,I then recieved a phone call from the contractor Michael Zapotocky- project manager, discussed in detail the permit process and who to discuss contact, stated that he would keep in contact with me and let me know when permit is secure Discussed with supervision the stop work order placed on property and that the contractor would contact me to let me know in detail . I was asked if the crews could proceed with the work of carpet and painting, was decided to let the crews proceed but that the permit was to be secured prior to finishing door and electrical.
