| 12/11/2013 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | RVIDAL | Approved | Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the fire was out and was in the process of the overhaul. No one was allowed in the house due to plants were found in the rear of the house in a small room. Tucson Police was dealing with the plants while T.F.D. was dealing with the fire. Did have to wait for a search warrant before entering the property. The power was removed at the meter due to the damage of the fire. Gas was removed at the meter and had to wait for the testing until the warrant was served. The plants were removed with lighting and the boosters for electrical by T.P.D. The warrant was served and the fire was near a wall furnace that was just installed. The house has 3-new wall furnace through out the house with 2 up front in the hallways near the living room. The 3rd was installed and large room in the rear of the house. The damage was contained to the northeast portion of the house near the wall furnace. The fire was around the vent stack to the roof. The fire did damage to the attic where the gas line was with electrical wiring. The rafters and the 1X planking was burned or charred. Some of the plaster ceiling and walls were pulled down to check for fire. The other parts of the house were OK except for smoke damage. Was not able to make contact with the owner and the tenant has not showed. Bathcrest was called to the property to have all the doors secured. Was able to secure the windows except for 3 to where 1-broken pane and 2-were not able to lock. Did the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front window. S.W.G. did have a supervisor come to the site due to a small leak. The leak was not able to be located and will require a clearance on the house line before the gas can be turned back on. The owner was given notice for the leak and the program for assistance on moving the meter near the house. That information was placed in the packet and will be given to the owner on Monday. Did have a problem with the neighbor coming over and being loud for us to stop and do the work after sunlight. Did let the neighbor know that the property needs to be secured for securement. He left and they came back and T.P.D. was called to the property for assistance. Before the officers showed to the property, the neighbor went back into the house and the work was done on the securement. The person from S.W.G. was on site and also assited on the arguing in the rear of the property on the rear porch. I did call communcation to check if this property was section 8 and was told no it was not. The neighbors thought it was a section 8 and thats why it was checked. All on site left together. Will call the owner on Monday to meet on site. RV. |
| 12/12/2013 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | RVIDAL | Approved | Made contact with the office of the owner and they are on there way to the property. I did go to the site to meet the owners. Permission was given to have the property opened to check the damage and to let the tenants get some of their items out. Did go over that the owner or a rep from the management does need to know that some one is on the property. The person in the rear of the unit will be keeping track of who goes into the property. Once the owners looked at the damage they were talking to the installer or company of the installers to check if they could find the cause of the fire. They all took pictures of the rear burned and the items in the house. I did leave the site and the owner signed the paper work for the violation and gave a copy of the notice to vacate the property that the tenant signed. The owner was to close the opening after 5:00 PM and make arrangements to have the tenant get the other items out of the property. This property was a section 8 property and I met with Arturo the supervisor of Section 8 to verify. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
