08/03/2012 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-12(a)(2) PROTECTIVE TREATMENT. All exterior wood surfaces, except for decay-resistant woods, must be protected from deterioration and from the elements by paint or other protective treatment or covering. Any exterior wood surface that has paint that is peeling, flaking, cracked, blistered or chipped, resulting in bare, unprotected surfaces, the deteriorated condition of that surface must be eliminated and the surface repainted. All metal surfaces subject to corrosion or rust must be treated or coated to inhibit corrosion and rust, unless corrosion or rust is a design element.

All weather-exposed exterior surfaces of every building, including windows and doors, shall provide weather protection. Every building shall be weather protected to provide shelter for the occupants against the elements and to exclude moisture and dampness.

ALSO NOTED WAS ANOTHER HOLE PATCHED IN FRONT OF 1301 WITH PLYWOOD CAUSING A TRIP HAZARD.. RAILING FOR TENANTS ARE LOOSE AND SWAYS, HAZARDS EXSIST; 1) RAILING WITH POETICAL OF BREAKING LOOSE AWAY FROM SUPPORT. 2) FALL HAZARD AT ENTRANCE FOR APT. 1302 HOLE IS 20"X6". 3) FALL HAZARD AT ENTRANCE FRO APT. 1301 PLYWOOD NAILED AS PATCH, TENANT CAN TRIP AND FALL DOWN STAIRS OR THROUGH RAILING WHICH IS BROKEN. 4) SCREWS HOLD THE 2X6 HAS WORKED THEIR WAY OUT CAUSING A TRIP HAZARD. 5) LACKING HAS DETERIORATED TO POINT OF WOOD BECOMING WEAK AND BOWING. 6) STAIR CASE NOT PROPERLY ANCHORED AND SWAYS, HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME DISLODGED. I HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH TENANTS IN 1301/1302 AND ADVISED THEM OF MY FINDINGS. NOV TO BE ISSUED ON 3 AUG12 FOR UNSAFE LANDING AND RAILING WITH POTENTAIL OF BECOMING DISLODGED.
